John David Cooper & Associates has been established since 1984 and has for the most part primarily been a management consultancy.

As a management consultancy, the company has had a variety of consulting engagements across Europe and Asia Pacific fulfilled by a range of highly specialised and qualified consultants.

JDCA started the Asia Pacific branch of a well known IT Research company called The Butler Cox Foundation which provided IT research to the Asia Pacific's largest corporations.  Butler Cox was later bought by CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation) and JDCA became the agent for CSC Research Services, the research and advisory division of CSC. 

In 1999 when CSC decided to operate the research division in-house, a nucleus of the original CSC team formed a new dynamic research company called The Concours Group. JDCA became the agent for The Concours Group in Asia Pacific. The Concours Group integrates consulting, research and education in order to bring innovative, high-value business solutions to its clients. The work revolves around future best practices in business, technology and human resources management.

In 2002, JDCA began the successful provision of IT Services to a number of small to medium enterprises (SME's). Such services includes website development and hosting, application development, IT operations and support.

JDCA also has alliances with other organisations world-wide in the provision of IT Performance Metrics and Benchmarking, IT consulting and CIO Networking.
